ISPOR is widely recognized as one of the leading global forums in the fields of health economics and health technology assessment, annually bringing together researchers, policymakers, regulators, representatives of the pharmaceutical industry, payers, NGOs, and patients to discuss methodological innovations and ethical challenges in the generation and use of evidence.
In this special issue of JBAS, published as a special section, we provide a critical analysis of the main topics discussed in the plenary sessions of ISPOR Europe 2025, highlighting emerging trends in Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) and Health Technology Assessment (HTA). Based on the selection of four representative sessions, the article explores conceptual transformations, operational challenges, and methodological opportunities in key areas of healthcare decision-making.
